Over Thanksgiving weekend I was under the impression that I did not have any assignments due this coming week, so I sat around sewing and embroidering to my hearts content. Unfortunately, I was wrong and their was an assignment due on Monday morning that I completely forgot about until today! Its late already so I have been working on it today and I am going to turn it in tonight... Hopefully it wont be a problem.
I don't regret my choice to take the weekend off from schoolwork. I got some sewing done for the shop and for gifts.
I LOVE how these crochet cases came out. They are linen and cotton with embroidery and embellishment on the outside. They tie shut with a ribbon. These will be available in my shop shortly.
I also whipped up a skirt for the munchkin. It didn't come out as I had hoped, but I think a little embroidery will kick it up a notch as well as changing the buttons. The skirt is made out of a mens flannel dress shirt I got for free out of the give-away bin in the laundry rooms.
And I got started on another patch for the shop. Its almost done!
I told you I got busy! I am almost out of linen too.
Does anyone have a good online linen source they would be willing to share with me?
And you thought we were done? No, no. no...
I have also started on my first doll! I chose the Ruby doll pattern from One Red Robin because its so cute and it looks easy.
After cutting out the pieces and trying to turn those arms and legs, I am going to enlarge the pattern for the next one. I think it would be really cute and easier to make if it were bigger. This one is going to one of the children on my gift list. I am hoping to make 3 Ruby dolls this season for gifts.
Back to schoolwork though. I have only 2 weeks left of the quarter! Yeah!
