I love Mushrooms. I love folktales about mushrooms. Especially the ones about fairies. Legends say that fairies live and party in mushroom circles and they are also entrance portals to the spiritual realm. Fairies are fun loving folk who love to play tricks on humans who wander into their midst. When we went searching for mushrooms today I got one photo taken before my camera stopped working. Nothing I could do would make it take a photo. Fighting my rising panic (this is my baby here!), my hubbie jokes that maybe I should leave an offering for the fairies and ask them not to play tricks on my camera. I promptly plucked a strand or two of hair from my head and left it in the circle while asking for photographic cooperation. Suddenly my camera worked! No joke! Unfortunately I lost all of the photos taken up to that point but all that matters is that it worked beautifully afterward and I got some pretty shots.
Tomorrow I am going to retake all of those lost photos. I am hoping that we can go a bit further into the forest. I have heard that there are amazing fungi growing around here.
Beautiful photos. I especially like the first one. When my brother and I were young, my mom would make up wonderful stories about a fairy princess who lived in a mushroom house for us. :)
