New Prints - Ranunculus
These are my all time favorite flowers and I cant wait for any excuse to buy some. Today at the farmers market there was a huge Ranunculus display and bundles were 3 for $10. I grabbed three bunches and took photos all afternoon. I am very happy with these and they are headed to my shop.

Vacation

Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross
If you haven't gotten this book yet then run out and grab it because it is full of adorable and original patterns that are really easy.
I love the colors and photography! But what I love most of all are these slippers! Arent they adorable!
Or how about this dress. I can see myself wearing this all over the beach this summer.
My daughter had already picked out the material for this dress.
And I am on a search for material for several of these shirts.
My only complaint is that there is no place to store the patterns. I will have to keep a large envelope with this book for the patterns.
Well I will probably be away from blogland for the next week. Finals are over and it is finally spring break and we have family coming for the week. Have a wonderful beginning of Spring!

My New Macro Filters
As you can see from the title you know what I chose to play with when I opened my mailbox the other day. The Weekend Sewing book is fabulous and I promise that the next post will review the book.
Gina asked me about my filters so I thought it gave me an excuse to show you what they did. I have been looking for a dedicated macro lens for my camera for a couple of months now. Unfortunately they are pretty expensive and I cant even afford a used one. At the same time I was researching TtV photography and working on my contraption. TtV requires a macro lens or a macro filter. I looked up macro filters and found a 4 pack on ebay for about $20. I am really happy with them. It might not be a macro lens but it beats not having anything.
There are four magnification strengths +1, +2, +4, +10. The one I am holding is +10.
Here is my thyme plant without the filter. This is as close as I can get.
And with the +10 filter on
I practically need a tripod to take this shot. Overall a macro lens would produce crisper sharper photos but this filter will work well with the type of photography that I like to do.

I loved it so much it was put into my shop today.

Crafting Slump
Ok I admit it. I am in a crafting slump. I am just not in the mood! I would rather be outside with the camera right now or working on new prints for my shop like this one.
I bought Weekend Sewing last week and it is supposed to arrive today. Maybe that will pull me out of my slump. However, I also bought four new macro filters for my camera to do some real TtV and they are also scheduled to arrive today. What toy should I play with first? (doing happy mail dance)
