Hi everyone!
For Mothers Day I got myself a drop spindle and some pretty roving from a great etsy shop called Maine Woods Yarn and Fiber. It was a little frustrating at first, but with a good youtube video and soothing voice from Tom I was able to figure it out.
Once I got going it was very easy. I understand how it can be hypnotic and meditative. It was a lot like knitting in repetitive meditative way. If you like to knit you should try spinning.
I cant wait to knit this into something. I think it qualifies as a bulky yarn although I am not sure how to measure that. Its mostly even but has some thick and thin spots. As I spin more I think I get better at keeping the yarn one weight. But isn't that how everything is? Practice makes perfect...
Anyone know good places to get roving??? Recommendations anyone?

I watched that same youtube video last week and having been eyeing up drop spindles online. But I'm trying to learn to knit first for obvious reasons.
