I am taking a Photoshop class this quarter. It is drop in, no grades but I am so happy that I have to opportunity to pick an expert Photoshopper's mind! Here is something I have been working on. They are also available in my photo shop.
These are my color photos that I changed into black and white. Then I added a couple of filters and frames to add that vintage look to them. My dad had a box of old photos that his dad took when they were children. They were all square and had a frame like these ones. I loved the feeling of age and memory that the photos evoked in me, even though my father was a child in those pictures. Knowing that they were part of my ancestry almost made the memories mine too. I was hoping to get that feeling from these photos.
Ocean Play- This was meant to remind the viewer of old summer days.
Farm and Fields- This one needs to be seen close up to see all of the details. I love how the orchards follow the curves in the railroad tracks and the road. There is so much movement in this picture!
Out to Pasture- Cows are truly happy in these hills. The light adds a fantastical feeling like you are looking through a magic mirror and the cows are far in another place.
