I dont know what is going on but I have gotten so much awesome free stuff in the last two weeks. Starting with this beautiful old quilt top.
Two long skeins of beautiful wool yarn (destined to be a small rug perhaps)
The best of all doesnt have a photo, but I can tell you about it. A friend of mine who was an aspiring chef turned organic farmer gave me a huge amount of gorgeous baking supplies. A frosting tip set that has more then 20 tips, several carving tools and dyes. I got a wok and a large skillet with high sides and lid that I could never afford. He also gave me a beautiful cheese board with knives and a case, a mandoline (is that what its called?), and all the cake pans I could want including two tart pans. Oh! I cant forget the bagguette proofing pans! Those will come in handy.
Fall is in full swing here in Central California. The leaves have begun to turn a brilliant scarlet and gold, the air has a crispness that only comes from the North, and we have a chance of rain in the forecast. The best part is that my birthday is coming up soon! I love October!
Congratulations on the baking supplies! It sounds like a treasure trove! : )

All of those things sound absolutely wonderful, but the "free" or "gifted" part makes them even sweeter huh?! I just read about your fingerless gloves and wanted to say that my 4 yr old dd actually loves for me to do that with cheap socks (the kind that don't have much of a "heal" on them)...we just cut off the end seam and open a hole for her thumb (also works well with old black stockings or colored tights) :) Although they don't turn out quite as classy as yours did, they make for cute accessories for lil ones :)
