Here are the first pictures of my new project. It doesn't have a better name then Trees thus far so if you can think of a good one please leave it in the comments for me!
I used an old circular stretched canvas that has been laying around the craft area for a year, then painted it with watered down acrylics after drawing in a scene. The painting in the background will need some touch up when the embroidery is finished. Do you see the fingerprints on the left side? I also want to even the color out a little, I like the blotchiness of it, but I want it to look a little more natural like light clouds.
The greenery needs to be filled out as well. I am not sure I like how I am doing the greenery, but it will work. Its not feasible to take the stitches out of the canvas because there are noticeable holes left over, so be careful that you are sure of what you want before you start stitching.
These photos are available on flickr in large scale if you would like to see them close up. Hope you enjoy these!
What an interesting embroidery. Love the whole process you have used

Lovely work... this is going to be a beautiful one of a kind piece !
Maybe a leather thimble could help your stitchy fingers !? :-)

I really like the combination of media here. It's got a lovely effect, and the whole piece has a very nice quality to it. (And thanks for stopping by my site!)

This is a very lovely embroidery. I love how you painted the cavas and are adding the embroidery as accent. It is very striking.
